Ronni
A. K. Sanderson
Ronni, originally from Blackpool, is a young lady who has shown time after time her passion and dedication to her music, performing in shows and pantomimes from the age of five. Since the age of fourteen she has been in several bands, often featured in the papers. Ronni has an excellent strong singing voice and bubbly personality and also plays the piano, keyboards, guitar, harmonica and percussion instruments. As lead singer with Blackpool based popular rock band ‘Scallywag’ she developed a great following both locally as well as from regular gigs throughout the country. In 1996 Ronni wrote, composed and produced her own musical in Blackpool called ‘Two Weeks To Go’ based around her experiences with a local Theatre Group. This proved to be a great success and influenced her decision to give up her office job to enable her to study music full time to a higher level. Later that year she applied to Sheffield University where she subsequently achieved a high division class 2:1 BA Hon’s degree in Popular Music. During her 3 years study she spent 2 months of her degree at California State University. In her spare time she gave private singing lessons and continued to play in bands, completing a short tour of Germany with her band Scallywag in term holidays Since graduating, Ronni attended Phil Winston’s Theatre Works in Blackpool where she enhanced her performance skills with intense dance, vocal and performance training. In
July 2000 Ronni moved to London where she performed as a solo artist up to 4
times a week in venues all over the South East of England.
In 2001 she relocated to Berkshire and began working at Bray Film studios
as a singer-songwriter, exploring and developing new musical styles, co-writing
and recording an album with local musicians. Her
awareness of music as a powerful tool led Ronni to explore how she could
incorporate her music skills with her love for children in her ideas for
development of her musical career. In
2002, Ronni took up a job teaching pre-school children the basics of music for a
company based in Guildford. She
spent the best part of a year doing this, which helped her confirm her desire to
help more children develop their skills through the tools of music. From 2003 with her ambition and drive Ronni spent several months researching and building her own musical business venture called ‘Little Ronstars’ with helpful support from the Princes Trust and the Inbiz scheme. Her developmental musical workshops for pre school children launched in September 2003 have been running at several Sports Centres, Children’s Nurseries and Pre Schools across Berkshire, Slough and Surrey. Ronni has also written, produced and published a 17 song Little Ronstars first edition CD specifically aimed at pre school children, which proved very popular. In November 2005 Ronni’s
success with Little Ronstars reached the newspapers as she was awarded with the Princes
Trust Celebrate Success
- Nat West Enterprise Award for the South East of England.
